Our Mission

A few years ago, while I was living in California, my brother Eugene was diagnosed with cancer - in Philadelphia. Naturally, I spent a lot of time commuting back and forth. Unfortunately, although Eugene fought a brave fight, he eventually passed on. It was a privilege to be able to help him in the last few months of his life. During that time, I met several extraordinary people including one local woman who offered me the spare bedroom in her downtown Philadelphia condominium.  I will never forget her act of kindness and I decided that one day I would offer the same kind of help - on a nationwide scale - to traveling medical patients and their loved ones.   
 

That’s why www.hospitalhosts.com was created. Our mission is simple – to help relieve families of the burden of finding housing that’s appropriate, affordable, and close to the medical facility. And to allow them to concentrate all their energies on the treatment and cure of their loved one.  

Because of my brother Eugene, this is a very personal mission for me. So we’re offering the widest possible range of accommodations. We’re offering them in an ever-expanding range of towns and cities. We’re offering them in the most reasonably-priced facilities possible; in fact, in some cases, these facilities don’t  charge anything. And we’re offering them in a national database that can address just about all of your travel needs in this trying time. We know – I know - that if a loved one is seriously ill, your list of things to do can seem overwhelming. We’re dedicated to shortening that list, with a single, easy-to-use travel resource with everything you need.    

We have another goal, as well – to expand the network of private host homes available worldwide. If you’d like to open your heart, and your home, to someone who is traveling for medical treatment or to their loved one,  we invite you to become part of our helping network. We’ve all been – or will be – touched by a serious family illness at some point. Regardless of our different cultural, economic or ethnic backgrounds, that’s one thing we all have in common. And by opening your home to someone at this time of  need,  you will be extending your hand in a way that makes a difference in someone’s life..
