Welcome to www.HospitalHosts.com, the Ultimate Resource for Medical Travel and Medical Accommodations.  Through our website you can make air, car and hotel reservations for medical travel. We provide the most comprehensive list of hospital hospitality homes and private host homes to help reduce your travel expenses. Furnished vacation rental properties are included as well, often at a special discount for the traveling medical patient and their caregivers.
   

For Accommodations: 

From our Homepage click on the state in which the hospital is located, then click on the name of the hospital where the patient will receive treatment. If you don't see your hospital listed you can type the zipcode of the hospital into the top of the page and search by zipcode.

You will see a list of accommodations  including the approximate distance to the hospital. The list  includes  four categories of accommodations; Hotels, Bed and Breakfast, Hospitality Homes and Private Host Homes, (vacation rental properties are found under Private Host Homes). You can narrow your search results to any one of the four categories by clicking on the name of the category  near the top of the page.

If you choose a Hospital Hospitality Home you will need to contact the home or the hospital to make arrangements. Many Hospitality Homes have specific requirements which must be met in order to be a guest. Some Hospitality Homes are free, others ask for a donation or  charge a moderate fee. If you choose a Private Host Home the contact information will be in the listing. Private Host Homes are typically offered by families with a spare room in their home, some are free but others may charge a fee.  Please read our Etiquette Note for Private Host Homes if you plan to use this option.

To see hotel prices input the exact dates of your stay. When you find a hotel room and rate that is acceptable  Click ‘Book this Room’. It will show you the total hotel charges for your stay and includes the cancellation policy. CANCELLATION POLICIES VARY. PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE CANCELLATION POLICY BEFORE CONFIRMING YOUR PURCHASE.

You can ‘Name Your Own Price’  for a hotel room by clicking on that link at any time. This service is provided through Priceline. When you use this feature, the name of the hotel will not be revealed until you have paid for the room and THESE RESERVATIONS ARE NOT REFUNDABLE.

Etiquette Note for Using Private Host Homes.

Private Host Homes are generally rooms in a private residence that are made available to the traveling medical patient and/or their caregivers (guests). The host and the type of accommodation will vary. It is important that both the guest and the host understand the expectations or requirements of the stay in advance. Some hosts will allow a guest to use the kitchen and/or encourage social interaction. Other hosts may prefer to limit their interaction with the guest and offer simply a bedroom for sleep. It is important to be respectful of the hosts wishes and guidelines while you are in their home. Private hosts may require you to sign a liability waiver before you stay in their home and most will require some type of verification of your medical status from a hospital or doctor.
